Tradition and dynamism
Sineu combines the charm of a historic village with the vitality of an active and well-equipped municipality. With its traditional architecture, narrow streets and cobbled squares, it offers an authentic insight into Mallorcan life, enhanced by its famous weekly market, one of the oldest on the island.
The municipality is well equipped with modern services, including public transport, three educational centres, a regional health centre and a private retirement home. It also has a socio-cultural centre, a full range of sports facilities and municipal services such as water supply, which add to the dynamism of the town and make it an ideal place for residents and visitors alike.
Historic market and local cuisine
The Sineu market, with more than 700 years of history, is an unmissable weekly event where visitors can browse and buy local products, fresh produce and handicrafts. This market is not just a place to shop, it is a cultural experience that offers an authentic taste of Mallorcan gastronomy and tradition.
Festivities and culture
The patron saint festivities of Santa Margalida in July are one of the highlights of the local calendar. This festival includes religious, festive and folkloric events that reflect Sineu’s rich cultural heritage and offer visitors a unique experience of island culture.

Main festivities
Sineu is a town with a wide variety of festivals and traditions. If we had to highlight any of them, we would have to talk about the well-known weekly market on Wednesdays, the May fair, the Holy Week with the Good Friday procession, the Holy Burial and the Soledad de María (Solitude of Mary). As for the patron saint festivals, we are talking about the festivities of the Virgin in August.
