Rural charm and tradition
Santa Eugènia, about 20 kilometres northeast of Palma, is a privileged destination for those who want to experience the tranquillity and beauty of the Mallorcan countryside. An ideal setting for hiking and cycling, this village offers a perfect escape from urban life.
Since prehistoric times, the Santa Eugènia region has been an area of productive agriculture and livestock breeding. After the Roman period, which consolidated practices such as the cultivation of cereals and vines, and the Islamic period, which developed horticulture, the Catalan conquest marked a return to traditional agriculture and livestock farming, with crops such as wheat, barley, vines and legumes, and a predominance of sheep, cattle and pigs.
Architectural and cultural heritage
The old quarter of the municipality is characterised by its narrow streets and historic buildings, among which the parish church of Santa Eugènia, a central point of the village, stands out. The architecture here reflects the rich history and cultural heritage that has been preserved over the years.
Local festivities
One of the highlights of the year is the celebration of Santa Eugènia, the town’s patron saint, in September. This festival combines religious and festive events, offering a demonstration of traditions that strengthen the community and attract visitors from far and wide.
