This municipality in the Pla de Mallorca is characterised by its rich history of cereal production. The need to transform wheat into marketable flour led the municipality to exploit the most economical and abundant resource in the region: the wind. This exploitation resulted in the construction of dozens of windmills, not only in the countryside but also in the towns, creating a characteristic silhouette that characterises the landscape of Montuïri.

The old quarter of Montuïri has buildings of great historical value and the parish church of Sant Bartomeu, which reflect the municipality’s rich cultural heritage. These places not only attract tourists, but also serve as pillars of the municipality.
