Historical development
Since its definitive constitution as an independent municipality in 1836, Maria de la Salut has undergone significant development, especially during the 19th century, with an increase in the construction of houses and the improvement of infrastructures such as lighting and the creation of public spaces such as the Plaça de Baix.

- Patron saint’s fiestas on 8 September, in honor of the virgin whose name the town bears.
- On the last Sunday in September there is a second-hand goods fair, known as ‘es baratillo de’s Pla’.
- This town also hosts the Rock’n’Rostoll festival, which combines different forms of artistic expression with local avant-garde music.
