Agricultural and industrial tradition
Discover Llubí, a destination that combines the beauty of its natural surroundings with a rich agricultural and industrial tradition, offering a unique experience in the Pla de Mallorca. This municipality derives from the Roman toponym ‘Castro-Lupino’, today known as ‘Castell Llubí’. It covers an area of 3,400 hectares in the Pla. Its geography is characterised by an irregular topography, with the town centre situated between two promontories and crossed by the Torrent d’Aumadrà.
This rown is known for its dry farming, with crops such as almonds and carobs. Its star product, however, is the caper, which has been cultivated since time immemorial and is the mainstay of an excellent local canning industry.
Local industry
The transformation of agricultural products into preserves, especially capers, is the most important industrial activity in Llubí. In addition, the town’s distilleries, which produce and market different types of liquor, are also well known.
Communications and the environment
Llubí has excellent communications, with roads leading to several neighbouring towns, such as Sa Pobla, Sineu and Santa Margalida, making it easy to access and enjoy its rich culture and traditions.
