Pla de Mallorca Sustainability Plan
The Pla de Mallorca is implementing the Tourism Sustainability Plan for Destinations (PSTD). The PSTD is proposed as a roadmap for sustainable tourism in the Pla, taking into account its particularities as a rural area made up of 14 municipalities. It proposes the consolidation of a tourist offer based on innovative and experiential experiences that integrate technological tools to achieve added value and reach the envisioned sustainable destination model in the medium and long term.
Specific objectives: Implement a tourism development model in line with the SDGs and the Spain 2030 Sustainable Tourism Strategy. Strengthen governance structures and the role of the mancomunidad as local manager. Create employment opportunities. Improve the use of tourism resources, connecting the tourism sector with other productive sectors and contributing to the circular economy. Create tourism products linked to the rural environment, promoting local traditions and products.
